Brian Small

Brian J. Small is a shareholder of the Firm and manages the Firm’s Bankruptcy Department and the Consumer Financial Crisis Management Division of the Firm. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan (B.A., 1989) and University of Richmond School of Law where he earned a Law degree in 1992.

Brian exclusively practices in the areas of Bankruptcy law, debt resolution and debtor work-out arrangements for consumers and businesses. He has been frequent speaker at local and national seminars on Bankruptcy over the past several years, including the following engagements:

Brian is a Co-Host of the “Law and Reality” TV & Radio Show. The show airs on TV20 in Metro Detroit and FOX 66 in Flint on Sunday mornings at 11 AM, and “Law and Reality Live” airs as a radio show Tuesday’s from Noon to 1 PM on WCHB 1200AM/99.9FM. Brian is the current Vice President of the Consumer Bankruptcy Association and is a member of the planning committee lead by Chief Judge Steven W. Rhodes, U.S. Bankruptcy Court Eastern District Southern Division of Michigan, with regard to planning the annual “Detroit Consumer Bankruptcy Conference” sponsored jointly by the American Bankruptcy Institute and the Consumer Bankruptcy Association. Mr. Small is an active member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the National Association of Chapter 13 Trustees, and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, as well as the Institute for Continuing Legal Education. He has recently co-authored a practice manual for Bankruptcy for the Institute for Continuing Legal Education published in 2009.
